Pregnancy Highlights for the Week
How Far Along: 20 weeks
Fruit/Veggie: A Banana - Up until this week, the measurement used is "crown to rump" since they usually have their legs curled up, but from this point on they are measured head to toe. At 20 weeks, the baby is about 10 inches long head to toe (6.5 inches crown to rump) and weighs about 10.5 ounces.
Baby changes: Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
Best Moment this Week: This past week was pretty uneventful, which is nice. We started working on getting the room ready by cleaning out the closets and re-organizing the miscellaneous items we have stored in there. Still have a long way to go though.
Gender: The appointment is in a few hours, so we should know soon! (if the little peanut cooperates :)
Movement: Still nothing, still impatiently waiting :)
Food Cravings: Still the same.
What I Miss: I can't really think of anything in particular right now.
Sleep: I'm starting to wake up more during the night, and having a harder time going back to sleep. And having weird dreams, and I've never been much of a dreamer.
What I am looking forward to: The appointment!
Symptoms: Still feeling good!
