4 Month Appointment

We took Clara to her 4 month check-up yesterday, which included her second round of shots.  Shots still aren't very fun, but she definitely handled it better than the first time.  She is weighing 14 lbs 14 ozs (76%), is 25" long (76%), and her head is almost 16" around (38%) - her weight has caught up to her length.  The doctor said she is perfect, which of course we already knew!

The doctor also told us that it was time for some "tough love" during the night, and that sleep training was a good idea sometime between now and 6 months.  So you better watch out Clara, the party is over!  No more midnight (and 2 am, and 4 am) ice cream snacks anymore :)

Clara and Daddy

After Clara's 4 month photo shoot on Sunday, she got some fun play time with Daddy.  She is really interacting a lot, and likes when he sings "Mamacita" to her.  The funny faces and voices he uses can usually get a little bit of a giggle out of her.  I think she thinks he is pretty fun, and the feelings are definitely mutual!

Four Months

  • Still squealing and "talking" all the time, except her squeals are getting more high-pitched
  • Has rolled over a total of 6 times in the past month, all from front to back
  • Is putting her hands together to grab things
  • Pulls down on the toys from her play-mat all the way to her mouth
  • Is laughing at both funny faces and from being tickled
  • Puts everything in her mouth and is drooling a lot
  • Loves watching the cats and gets really excited when they get close enough to touch
  • Haven't really improved in the sleep department - still up at least two or three times a night
  • Has started putting herself to sleep for some naps
  • Weighs around 14.5 pounds
  • Spends her Mondays with her Mammy (Clint's mom) and then the rest of the week with her nanny, Vickie

Clara & Zoe

Clara finally acknowledged the furry creatures that live in our house last week.  I think their tails caught her attention first, but she started to stare intently when she was near them.

Of course, staring intently quickly led to wanting to touch.  Zoe was a great sport (Lola still avoids Clara), which is either because Zoe is sweet and maternal, or is just desperate for attention.
